Bead Journal project 2013 !

Hello my dear friends, thank you for stopping by to view my creative shinanikins.......(.probably spelt that wrong !) After a great week end, I need to knuckle under with a bit of 'housework', I suppose !
I spent yesterday at the NEC Birmingham, Hobby craft show.......Spent tooooo much !!!
Anyway I've been accepted to join the BJP 2013........I've always wanted to do creative things with beads
and embroidery so.........Watch this space in 2013, cause I'm gonna have a ball !!!

Thought I would have a little practise, so thought I would give you a 'SNEEK PEEK'

I've also promised a dear friend that I would knit her a extra chunky 'neck warmer', which is looking
fabulous...........

Next is a beautiful embroidery that I have started, which is also encrusted with beads.............
Well I hope that I have 'whetted your appetite' and brightened this dull day for you all.............xxxxxxxxxxx
*A quick update on my Son........the cruise ship 'VENTURA' that he is working on, has just docked at
TORTOLA, Eastern Carribean.....He is having the time of his life......We are so very happy for him.......

A rose for Sue ! ! !

Hello everyone, the sun is just coming out here in the UK this morning !
I have some very dear blogging friends and on occasion, I like to send a gift of my embroidery.........
My lovely friends Sue and Mike have a great photographic blog, which I enjoy immensely !
They have just returned from the USA  and I urge you to take a look at their blog......http://michaelgoodes.blogspot.co.uk/

So this is my latest embroidery......................
It was a bit of an experiment really.......I used my leaf design and then decided to design the rose in a completely different stitch than is usually used....French knots on stalks, angled to shape each petal in a perle 8 thread.......I have been so inspired by a couple of French blogs and the way they do embroidery !!
I find that studying their beautiful work, has helped me to express my own style and preferences !!
So lovely Susieque, this is winging its way to You..........with all my love and best wishes !!!!!!!

MY EMBROIDERED LEAF TUTORIAL !

Hello everyone, hope you're having a wonderful Saturday ! Today, I have decided to show you how I embroider leaves................
YOU WILL NEED
APPLETONS CREWEL WOOL
PERLE 8
ANY VARIEGATED FLOSS
APPROPIATE NEEDLES

Transfer any medium sized Leaf design to your ground fabric.

With straight stitches fill in the leaf motif with appletons crewel wool, like so...............
Next, do small straight stitches, all around the outer edge......Come up through the crewel wool and down on

the outer edge with perle 8, like so...............................

Next, starting at the very tip of the leaf, do fairly close fly stitch with floss to represent the leaf veins, like so..........

This is what your leaf should like ..............................
I love the look of these leaves and using crewel wool as the base makes them look slightly raised off of
the ground fabric !!!

Have a practise and see what you can achieve !!!!!!!!!  Enjoy your week end...............xxxxxxxxxxxx

Tast 2012, needlewoven picot stitch !

Hello folks....the sun is shining this morning here in the UK ! My son left at 7am this morning, to start his new
job.........Today he boards 'The ventura' cruise ship, bound for the Caribbean islands !! He is the leader of a five piece band and this is their first big break......WHOOOHOOO !!!!!
But the down side for me is that I will not see him again until 22nd March 2013 !!!
Tears, I've cried a few this morning......................

So, back to my stitching obsession............Due to an horrendously busy week, I only have a little bit to show you, and will need to catch up with this one................
I have also purchased some rather interesting Japanese floss called 'COSMO SEASONS ' !
A beautiful variegated floss that is not sold here in the UK.........I had to buy it on 'ETSY'.........
quite expensive but well worth it !!!
Well thats it for today folks............Have a great week end all..............
BON VOYAGE my son.......Till we meet again...................LOVE YOU ...........................
